About the Artist

Soraya Padrao is an artist from Madrid, currently based in Sag Harbor, New York. Her passion for drawing and painting began in her youth but was set aside to pursue a career in acting. Two decades later, she returns to art with a fresh perspective, finding in abstract painting a renewed and authentic way to channel her artistic expression. Influenced by the bold energy of Expressionist artists like Kandinsky, Pollock, and Chagall, her work explores movement and emotion to find harmony amidst the contrasts that define our existence.

Through her art, she aims to convey a profound sense of balance, where opposites do not repel but rather enrich one another. The vibrant hues juxtaposed against muted tones speak to the dynamic tension that exists within the human experience.

This exploration is not merely a visual endeavor; it is an invitation to engage with the complexities of life. By embracing duality, she creates a space where contradictions coexist, allowing for a more nuanced understanding of beauty and meaning. It is here, in this equilibrium between contrasts, that her artistic voice finds its most authentic expression. With every brushstroke, she explores the depth of human emotion and the intricacies of the world around us, crafting pieces that speak to both the heart and the mind.

It is an invitation to reflect, to engage, and to appreciate the subtleties of life.
